After more than a year of limited operations throughout the watershed due to Covid-19, the CMC is back at full capacity. During the last year, the CMC paused in-person trainings and limited onboarding new monitors. With staff and many volunteers vaccinated and trainings currently taking place from Virginia to Pennsylvania, we are now back on track.
Social distancing measures gave us the opportunity to re-think how we approach training and engaging volunteers. We pivoted to virtual meetings and events to limit the need for classroom time and keep in-person interactions to a minimum. These virtual events meant that folks from different places could come together for a single training. Also, we could be more effective with our time. We expect to keep some virtual aspects into the future and take a hybrid approach to training so that we can engage more monitors across the watershed.
