ALLARM teamed up with the Middle and Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Associations in 2018 to launch a new monitoring initiative called Susquehanna Stream Team, funded by the Campbell Foundation. This program engages water quality monitoring efforts among volunteers in Pennsylvania and New York. Volunteers will specifically be monitoring the Susquehanna tributaries to address local inquiries and aid in Bay data collection efforts. Stream Team is launching in ALLARM’s backyard, Cumberland County, with a training workshop on June 11. Teams will monitor approximately 15 sites in the Conodoguinet and Yellow Breeches watersheds throughout the county starting this summer! With more than 30 volunteers interested in Cumberland County, ALLARM is excited to continue spreading this program throughout the Susquehanna watershed.
